Pave the Way to Gular Art Trail

Gulargambone is a jewel in the Coonamble region’s crown, 47 kms south of Coonamble along the banks of the Castlereagh River.

Meaning ‘watering hole for many Galahs’ in the local Aboriginal language, Wayilwan, is famous for its corrugated tin Galahs, which act as welcoming signposts into town. It’s virtually impossible not to stop and capture these fantastic sculptures, created by local artists.

The sculptures and murals visible from the roadside are just the beginning. ‘Gular’, as the locals call it, has one of the most spectacular street art scenes, with vivid murals rivalling any Melbourne backstreet. Each piece of artwork has been created as part of a festival program, beginning in 2018.
