Our Animal Pound

Any dog or cat that is impounded must be microchipped and registered for life under the Companion Animal Act 1998, before it can be released from Council’s Pound.

The following fees and charges apply:

Large animals may be impounded and kept on separate premises that can accommodate for the particular type of animal.

Rehoming

As a service to the community, Coonamble Shire Council Ranger will accept your unwanted pets and endeavour to re-home them.

Gulargambone pick-up is at the Council Depot each Tuesday only, from 10.30am. Please phone the ranger on 0427 255 881, during business hours, before the Tuesday of the pick-up to ensure suitable caging is brought to Gulargambone for safe transport to the Animal Pound.

Animals for re-homing can also be dropped at Coonamble Works Depot (the location of the Animal Pound), on the Back Gular Road, Coonamble, by appointment with the ranger, phone 0427 255 881.
